There are occasions when clients find it difficult or don’t want to bring their pets down to our surgery for treatment and for this reason, we offer home visits.
Here are times when a house visit is not the best thing for your pet, if for example when we need to use equipment based at the surgery. We will advise you if a house visit is not appropriate and we will explain why. We can arrange pet ambulance transfers to the surgery if required.
While we do encourage pet owners to come to the surgery wherever possible – facilities are better and fuller examinations are possible – we do appreciate their ear occasions when this can’t be done.
Many people appreciate the convenience and relaxed nature of a home veterinary visit that can be less stressful for pets who get anxious when they visit the surgery.
Abercorn currently charge £100 for a house call during standard daytime hours. Examination fees are additional to this.
Clients are asked to appreciate that commitments in surgery will by and large take precedence over house calls.
