Nurse Consultations

Here at Abercorn we are proud to offer a range of nurse consultations with our fully trained and dedicated practice staff.

They have an important part to play in the veterinary team providing expert nursing care for sick animals.

We operate weight clinics and sessions on dental hygiene were pet owners are given advice on good oral health care to protect against the potential of serious and life-threatening health conditions

Gum disease is one of the most prevalent medical conditions seen by us at Abercorn. The problems begin when plaque and tartar are allowed to build up on your pet’s teeth. This can lead to infections of the guns and roots of the teeth.

To help prevent this our nurses offer a comprehensive dental service from dental radiography to scaling and polishing and surgical tooth extraction.

It is worth noting that after the age of three years old around 85% of cats and dogs have a degree of dental disease which if left unattended can cause irreversible damage to teeth, gums and jawbones.

In addition, if bacteria gets into the blood stream it can cause serious damage to vital organs such as the heart, liver and kidneys.

Do not take risks. Make an appointment with us to get your pet’s teeth checked so that action can be taken to avoid further help problems
